Justin Timberlake’s Chinese Tattoo
Justin Timberlake has the four elements tattooed on his torso in Chinese characters:

The tattoos should read 风土水火 (feng, tu, shui, huo) or Wind, Earth, Water, Fire. As far as I can tell, they’re done correctly! Hurray for the four elements.

风土水火 is Japanese style. 金木水火土 is Chinese style.
the four symbols are really cool
They are done correctly, in traditional Chinese, but as Juezai above says, 金木水火土 (gold wood water fire earth) may be more traditionally Chinese. I’m not sure.
The thing that bothers me is putting Chinese characters on one’s body in the first place. It’s just another form of writing – would you put:
Wind
Earth
Water
Fire
on your ribcage in English? It would look pretty silly…
