China’s Most Beautiful People: The Top 10
Although Danwei posted a list of their top 50 most beautiful Chinese men and women, they don’t have photographs to accompany them, so we can’t really judge them ourselves. This post will simply take their list and add pictures, for your viewing pleasure, of their top 10 hottest Chinese:
1) Maggie Cheung, also know by her Chinese name 張曼玉 (Zhang Manyu), is an award winning Hong Kong (HK) actress.
2) Takeshi Kaneshiro (金城武) is part Taiwanese, part Japanese, but an excellent actor, and hot. Among other films, he starred in blockbuster House of Flying Daggers with Zhang Ziyi.
3) 小S (S Xiao), known also as little S, is a quirky television personality. In this photo, she sports braces:
4) Zhang Ziyi, 章子怡 in Chinese, the infamous Chinese actress who made it big in America through Rush Hour 2 and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, is widely regarded among Americans as the sexiest young Chinese woman:
5) Liu Ye, 刘烨 in Chinese, is a Chinese actor, starring in various foreign Chinese films.
6) A personal favorite of mine, Andy Lau (刘德华) is both singer and actor. He starred in House of Flying Daggers as well as the Infernal Affairs series of movies.
7) Xu Jinglei (徐静蕾) is an formidible woman: both actress and director. And here is a pic of her:
8) Liu Xiang (刘翔) won the 2004 110m hurdles at the Athens Olympics. Wikipedia notes that his victory was “the first time an athlete of non-African descent has dipped under 13 seconds for the 110 meter hurdles.”
9) Angela Chang (张韶涵) is a Taiwanese singer and actress, with three albums.
10) Zhang Jingchu, star of Peacock, is another Chinese up-and-coming actress!

in a lot of asian’s eyes, more than half of your Top 10 is not pretty at all.
