Coco Lee EXPOSED: English Album
I was surprised to listen to Coco Lee’s latest English album, Exposed:
Maybe you can see why? The album is highly sexualized, and not at all what I expected from a Chinese singer from Harbin. Granted, I don’t know much about her, but with a song called So Good where she sings:
Hey daddy close the door,
what are you waiting for?
I’m crawling on all fours,
enjoy me on the floor.Hush now - whose is it
Don’t talk - just hit it
I need a little more - than a minute
I wanna pass out - with you in it
Don’t stop - baby take it
Deeper - till you break it
Open - cause I need it.
Harder, harder, harder, harder.
The songs themselves sound like pretty generic pop, so if you like the fact that it’s an over-lusty Chinese girl trying to make the American charts it might be for you. Otherwise, I’d give it a 60% rating.
Unusual Chinese Characters
That’s right, there is a single-syllable word in Chinese that means “to sell e.g. one’s own child during e.g. a famine,” and in a delicious little irony, it’s derived from 粥 “gruel” which makes it cognate to 育, “bear/raise children.”
