Vietnamese Prince Regent Visits Cornell
His Imperial Highness, Prince Regent, Nguyen Phuc Buu Chanh came to Cornell the other day to give a speech about the restoration of the remainder of the royal family to their place in Vietnam. Currently exiled, his lecture, “A Revival of Vietnamese Culture,” drew about 40 people, most of whom were taking Vietnamese language classes, or in the Cornell Vietnamese Association. Highlights included the singing of US and Vietnamese anthems, and a Vietnamese dinner at the end of the lecture.
The only point that the Prince Regent had to make, besides detailing the rich history of 19th - 20th century emperors, was:
“By the will of the people, the royal family of Vietnam will someday return to govern its people, as it had before.”
He was very hesitant to outline any particular plan for reinstating a Vietnamese monarchy, only saying that someday, the Vietnamese people will find fond memories of the old days, and hardship with their current government. At that time, monarchy would somehow “reappear” in Vietnam. Perhaps you can find more at his official website.
I have figured how to get them off of my cellphone camera now, so I’ll post photographs of the event:

Can Vietnam become another Korea or Japan economically?
Vietnam - 300 Km Land, 80 Million people, 400 Billion GDP
Phillipenese - 300 Km Land, 80 Million people, 500 Billion GDP
Japan - 400 Km Land, 125 Million people, 4000 Billion GDP
Korea - 250 Km Land, 70 Million people, 1100 Billion GDP
My experience has been that all cultures do not value money or possesions in the same way..

i love vietnam but the idea of royal family? psshh anyway?? why the hell u call urself royal?? royal ass bitch. if u hate vietcong then live with it. NOtin can save vietnam from communist now. The only way to change it is their government decide to change on thier own theres notin anyone else can do about it?? war wont help, terrist wont help, rebel wont help. so i think u should just live ur royal ass if u dont like it look on the bright side u will die eventually. So u should just forget the idea of going back and bieng a royal ass in vietnam. no one care and i dont think they want war watsoever.

I think Vietnam war was good for the Vietnamese more than the Chiense or Americans. In my openion, the present day Vietnam is in much better shape in most measurable ways.

Lots of people killed on both sides. Good for the winners on all sides. The losers want a resolution on the dead combatants.
